Lowlands/scotland As the name suggests, the Lowlands are a flat region in the southernmost part of Scotland. Whisky from the Lowlands is generally the lightest and most delicate of the whiskies of Scotland, with very little smoky or peaty characters, though they do possess an inner strength. They are wonderful to drink as an aperitif.

Speyside/Scotland Speyside is the centre of whisky production in Scotland and houses the most distilleries of all the regions. Geographically it is part of the Highlands, though considered a separate whisky region due to the differences in style and flavour to other Highland areas. Speyside is an excellent starting point in the fascinating and diverse world of whisky. Speyside whiskies are elegant and gentle in character, with gently sweet malty notes mixing with just a hint of smoky depth. A great all rounder!

Macallan 10 years, cask strength, 58.4%..... Smoke, oranges, marzipan and ripe figs dominate the nose. On the palate waves of alternating smoke and fruit. Magnificent. Finishes with hints of orange and cocoa.	19.-

Highland/Scotland The largest of the Scottish whisky regions geographically, offering a diverse range of styles and tastes. They tend to be powerful and complex, with rich flavour and can be quite smoky although almost always less smoky than whisky from Islay. Many Highland whiskies are named with the word ‘Glen’ in their name which simply means ‘valley’.
Brora Limited Bottling 2007, 30 years, cask strength, 55.7%..... Nose is pure and intense with plum, prune, sweet burnt oranges, fragrant wood ash and smoke. Palate is sweet at first followed by a blast of smoky peat. Warming and dry, it has perfect balance from start to finish. Finishes long with hints of tar, biscuits and liquorice. A magnificent fully mature Highlander in all it’s glory.	55.-

Glen Garioch 21 years, 43%..... Elegant and delicate nose of sherried wood, flowers and sweet malt. Very delicate Highlander with a palate of sweet sherry, vanilla, smoky oak and flowers. Mellow warming finish.	28.-
Glengoyne 10 years, 40%..... A fresh delicate nose with toffee and popcorn. Hints of nut and fresh green apples coming through. On the palate apples mix with cut grass, sweet liquorice and almonds. Finishes sweet and malty.	11.-
Glengoyne 21 years, 43%..... True to the Glengoyne style, showing an abundance of ripe red apples, toffee, sherry, and spicy strudel on the nose. Sweet sherried palate with honey, oak, leather, sweet apples and a magic cinnamon hit on the finish.	27.-
Glenmorangie The Original 10 years, 40%..... From the tallest stills in Scotland come this enigmatic malt. Ripe citrus fruits, apricots, honey, vanilla and almonds dominate the nose. The palate is beautifully proportioned and supremely elegant, showing the wonderful harmony of all the Glemorangie whiskies.	10.-
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, non age, 46%..... Finished in port wood, this displays the hallmark Glenmorangie aromas and flavours infused with darkly fruited, chocolaty port characters.	13.-
Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or, non age, 46%..... Finished in Sauternes casks, this takes the citrus fruits and ripe apricots to another level of intensity, combined with rich yet fresh honey. Spicy citrus fruits, fresh and fine, drive the palate. A perfect aperitif whisky.	15.-
Glenmorangie Signet, non age, 46%..... Made with heavily roasted ‘chocolate’ malt, this is a departure from the classic Glenmorangie style. Aromas of chocolate orange and pecan pie mingle with fresh espresso. The palate is deep, dark and malty with chocolate, oranges, apricot, coffee and spices. This is blended from a selection of malts from Glenmorangie, some up to 35 years old, with components made from ‘chocolate’ malt.	33.-
Oban 14 years, 43%..... From the rugged Western Highlands comes this classic malt of Scotland. Delicate aromas of heather, honey and smoke mingle with just a hint of sea air. The palate is firm but soft, with heathery malt and just a hint of smoke.	16.-
Campbeltown/Scotland Once considered the capital of whisky production with 21 distilleries back in 1886, now sadly only 3 remain. Fiery, complex and powerful whiskies, though not strongly peated, Campbeltown makes up for it’s small size with some seriously profound whiskies.

Islands/Scotland Often confused with the Islay region, Islands is actually made up from a number of islands situated around the coast of Scotland such as Mull, Orkney, Jura, Arran, Shetlands and Skye. Very much like a milder version of Islay itself, the whiskies are smoky and peaty, though generally softer and gentler.

Talisker 18 years, 45.8%..... Nose of peppery peaty smoke and ripe nectarines. Soft palate with sweet caramel malt, smoke, spice and a hint of oak.	22.-

Johnnie Walker Blue Label, non age, 40%..... Despite being a non age blend, this contains some extremely old and rare whiskies. Nose opens slowly to reveal a mass of aromas, smoke, dried fruits, polished wood, oak, liquorice and cream. The palate is spicy, malty and smoky, and builds up incredible intensity and complexity as it opens up. A hugely complex blend.	31.-

Bushmill's Rare Malt Madeira Wood, 21 years, 40%..... It doesn’t get much better than this. Madeira notes mix with mocha and spice on the nose. The palate is hugely complex with chocolate, cream, sultanas, walnuts and coffee-flavoured biscuits, followed by spices to complete the picture. Finishes with layers of grape and spice. A near perfect whisky.	33.-
Connemara Irish Single Malt, non age, cask strength, 57.9%..... Strong nose of peat and smoke. Very intense. Palate begins with a surge of peat followed by an explosion of fruits, spices, pepper and chocolate. The long peaty finish remains sweet and malty.	16.-
